A flower spine tattoos are an ancient tradition in Japan.
They were popularised by the late Japanese artist, Kazuhiro Katsuya.
His tattoo of a pink flower on his chest was inspired by a poem by the same name written by the poet Keiji Fukui, which translates as “the flower that grew in the ground”.
The phrase translates to “in the field I planted”.
Today, Katsuyans flower tattoo is a signature tattoo for many in Japan, which has helped him achieve international fame.
However, a lot of Japanese artists, especially those with darker skin tones, have struggled with finding the right shade of ink for their tattoo.
One artist, who goes by the name of Rr spin and works in a tattoo studio in Japan’s capital, has been working on a new tattoo technique that uses a combination of ink from different colours.
He says that a colour scheme is key for a tattoo that is going to be as visible as possible, and that a combination that has the potential to match the shade of the tattoo will give the tattoo a unique and distinct look.
The idea behind Rr spins flower tattoo was inspired in his love of traditional Japanese culture.
He has worked as a tattoo artist since 2005, and says that when he first started out he was not sure if he wanted to become a tattooist.
He was unsure if he would ever be able to tattoo his name on a piece of paper, or how he would look in a suit.
“When I started tattooing, I had no idea what I was doing, so I just started to paint my own ink,” he says.
“I just did what I liked.
And I loved it.
When I got to Japan, I started to work at a tattoo shop, and I got really interested in the tattoos that they gave me.
It was very exciting to be able work in this industry.”
So when he heard about the new tattoo tattooing technique, he was so impressed that he wanted one too.
He got to work on his own ink and took the ink to the tattoo studio to start making his own.
He decided to take it to the next level.
“There are so many different styles of tattooing that are being done in Japan,” he explains.
“You see tattoos that are really simple and simple, but they are also very elaborate and complicated.
This is what I want to do with my tattoo.”
“I want to make my own tattoo style,” he adds.
Rr Spin, whose real name is Masaaki Takano, has a tattoo to match his love for traditional Japanese tattooing.
He is not the only one who has taken up the art of tattoo, as he also has tattoos that depict the artist’s face, and even his own name.
“A lot of people have tattoos of their names and the artist, and a lot have tattooed their family members,” he tells me.
“So I think the tattoo is the perfect way to show your love and your appreciation for a Japanese artist.
I think it’s a really great way to celebrate a man.”
“My tattoo style is inspired by my childhood,” he continues.
“It’s not just about making a tattoo for my body, it’s also about the style of the art itself.”
His tattoos can be worn, pinned, pinned to your body, or even on a bracelet.
“Tattoos can also be placed on clothes or even tattooed on your body in different ways,” he elaborates.
“The way I want it to look, is that the tattoo doesn’t have to be in the same place.
The artist can make it different depending on the time of day, the day of the week, the season, the mood, the type of the sun, the seasons of the year, and so on.”
When asked what makes a tattoo interesting, Rr says it has to do something different.
“People have tattoos because it’s an art form, and it’s fun to see the world through that art form,” he states.
“For example, people like to show their family and friends a tattoo of their parents name.
He feels that a tattoo has to be unique and not just for the person, and for a specific reason. “
And tattoos can also have some symbolism attached to them,” he concludes.
He feels that a tattoo has to be unique and not just for the person, and for a specific reason.
“They can be for the culture or the artist or the person’s family, and if you have a tattoo, you can show your feelings or you can express yourself,” he enthuses.
“If you want to show how much you love your tattoos, you have to put yourself in the situation where it’s like a painting or a drawing or something like that.”
In this way, the artist makes the tattoo look like a piece that is something very personal to you.
“In Japan, there is a lot more pride in tattoos than in tattoos being made of plastic,” he notes.
